Charles D.

I’ve been through all the phases of a company as a manager. However, the training taught me the very different and special posture of the co-pilot, based on commitment and oriented towards results. I’m delighted to have taken this course, which has enabled me to improve my coaching skills.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

An Operating Partner is an experienced professional, former entrepreneur/business founder, or at least a CEO, who supports executives in their growth, strategic transformation, or structuring, with a commitment to results. The Operating Partner is essentially a peer, bringing immediate legitimacy in the field.
These three roles, although complementary, have different objectives:

  • The consultant offers an external perspective and strategic recommendations without getting involved in execution.
  • The interim manager temporarily takes on an operational role within the company’s organization.
  • An Operating Partner acts as a co-pilot to the CEO: they challenge decisions, share their experience as a former CEO, and support execution without taking control. They combine strategic vision and operational expertise, with part of their compensation indexed to results.
Your experience is key to joining the program, but obtaining the Operating Partners Academy certificate offers significant advantages beyond simply validating your skills. It is not about teaching you your job, but about aligning and structuring your extensive experience so it can be applied optimally in the specific context of today’s executives, while securing a neutral position capable of delivering results. Your experience is the raw material, and certification is the tool that makes it immediately transferable and recognized in this specific role.
In addition to professionalism, credibility, and increased market appeal that lead to more prestigious assignments, the CAPOP certificate offers a measurable ROI for committed alumni:

  • CGV: A mission to create a growth plan for an executive must be presented to the jury. The executive and company are identified by the Operating Partners Academy. On average, this mission leads to a first contract for alumni in half of the cases.
  • Sponsor: Each cohort is sponsored by a recognized leader who answers questions and often connects students with leaders in their network.
  • Alumni platform: A mission platform will be available from 2026 for all alumni who wish to use it.
The CAPOP program format is designed to allow professionals to balance certification with current obligations by condensing essential learning into six months: 130 hours of high added value, 75% in-person / 25% remote.
All contributors are professionals in their fields, active entrepreneurs with an average of more than 15 years of management experience.
No, certification is subject to several criteria, including continuous assessment results and passing the CGV: A growth plan must be presented to the jury. Passing this presentation is essential for CAPOP certification; failure results in disqualification.
Selection is by jury, after completing and returning the admission application form.
